HSA 25% provides the highest available protein concentration in a liquid formulation. This is critical when minimum added volume at maximum protection is required — such as in the final formulation of cell therapy products with tight volume limits, or when stabilising high-concentration active substance solutions.
In the final formulation of CAR-T cells, NK cells, and other ATMPs with defined infusion volumes, HSA 25% delivers maximum protection at minimum volume contribution. A 1% HSA addition from a 25% solution requires only 4% of the volume compared to a 5% solution — critical for products with tight total volume specifications.
For cryopreservation protocols requiring a maximum albumin-to-DMSO ratio, HSA 25% is the more efficient choice. It allows achieving the desired final HSA concentration with a lower total volume addition.
High-concentration HSA 25% is particularly effective at protecting viral vectors against aggregation and activity loss during storage and freeze-thaw cycles. For AAV-based gene therapy products, HSA is recommended as a standard stabiliser in formulation.
